SS Panda Daytona-C Hits 50k!
So, that time has come -- UNWORN 2021 OR NEWER new card partially or fully stickered stainless steel white "panda" ceramic Daytona 500LN have hit $50,000.00.
In the last couple of weeks, this particular piece, along with a few others, have really shot up in price -- both for greys having to pay higher "replacement costs" and end buyers. Some sellers have ran through their inventory, and some others have pulled back to see the watch go up and up in value, as they wait to relist to not miss out on profit from the new market price. Going up and up every single day!! |

Owning a black 500 and other Daytonas even I say this is just bonkers. Sooooo not worth these prices which has been discussed ad nauseam here on TRF but 50k plus? Really??
Granted I am on the next one that comes in list for a 116505 or 116515

Spot on as usual Danny IMO.
The market is ALWAYS bonkers when new releases are around the corner plus Rolex with the new price increase. Too many models to list that went crazy for a little while then as always the market settled.

What's the most recent example of the "market settled" in regards to Rolex specifically?? I guess you could look to the "Great Recession" and its lasting effects on everything from mid 2008-2010 or a tad beyond.

Granted no Rolex has reached the level of hysteria/pricing as the 116500 but my point was whenever there is a new price change of discontinue speculation models will go bonkers for a little while then come back down. Ebb and flow. But yes keeping in tune with this thread the Daytona 116500 is on a whole other level. If someone wants to pay 50k plus for it then more power to em. Not my money. It is a great reference. I own one. Just saying that IMO the upper 20's is where I would draw a hard line in the sand. I think the 16520 which I dont own should have more hysteria and higher pricing but everyone goes crazy for the ceramic. INCLUDING me. I have a 520 and 523 but wanted a 500 badly. I am even hopefully landing a 505/515 this year. Love the Daytona line, obviously. Just not at 40-50k for a SS version. But again to all the people who do then great. Spend your money how you like.

But with the Daytona, they have never really come back down year after year after the new watch speculation.

You’re just wrong. UK sold for £40k in last three days. All prices on Chrono24 are achievable. I have seen 4 achieve chrono prices or better in real transactions. All this bias against chrono24 is partial. These prices are real. I’m not remotely interested in your bias, but other readers on the fence should know that these prices are real. If I’m right, in 3-6 months time they’ll be glad they read this post. And you’ll still be ranting in denial.

With no guarantee if the watch is real / not stolen and no chance of getting your money back if you're duped. Watchrecon probably represents what you'd get from a Grey as a cash sale in which case 37 is about right - probably Grey sells for 45 after "discounting" the $50K watch.
