I’m a bit concerned. Tempted to send it to RSC for a polish but not sure if it’s a good idea

What about it concerns you?

Do you think it affects the value?
Do you think it affects the strength of the lugs?
Did you buy pre-owned and think it's been tampered with?

The only time any Rolex needs a polish is at normal routine service only now every 5-10 years depending on use. And those tiny marks look like self inflicted wonder if changing the bracelet was involved.

Yea it was from a bracelet swap, I’ll wait till next year when the warranty approaches the end before I pay for a polish while servicing the movement

Don’t send to RSC for a polish it will come back without the scratch but it won’t have the original factory finish…

Maybe a dumb question - but what is RSC?

When you say that it won't have original factory finish anymore: do you mean that it will remove areas that have a brushed /matte loom that contrast with a polished surface in certain areas and it will all come back as one polished surface?

its annoying and it sucks when something like that happens but I also don't think it is worth sending off to get repaired or refinished. I would just wear it and then have it fixed when it needs to get serviced.

That’s sort of weird looking to me.

It looks as though the metal is “lifted” from a pry mark or something. Do you know how it happened? Bracelet swap?

I agree with Peter, I’d leave it till routine service

Braceler swap/removal.

End link pulled outwards and spring bars popped.
Super easy to happen btw.

I can’t speak from experience but then again, I’ve never tried on a Rolex

I always keep a downward pressure on the end link now if not using a special tool, which isn't always handy btw..
Tend to get the same result but on the undersides where no one notices, myself included

Nothing that RSC can't fix either way...

Bracelets should be removed and fitted back from the bottom side only.

It sucks. We would all want for things to be eternal and stay undimmed by time. But this is not possible. Entropy, impermanence, death, these are all concepts against which we have no option but to accept them.

With this in mind, leave your watch how it is. Polish will ruin the shape. Replacement will just lay the foundation for new dings and scratches.

I myself dinged the rotating bezel of my latest watch in less than 24h. And when I see it I’m not happy. But you let go, and move on. It’s just a watch with a minuscule scratch. In the grand scheme of thing, this is a dust particule on a super tanker.

your concern is dependent on what the description was prior to acquiring the watch. Was it supposed to be brand new? Then yes, be concerned. It may have been barely worn, but someone has clearly been swapping bracelets, which at the least would indicate it's no longer new.

If the watch was used, you should have had the opportunity to carefully look over the watch and ask questions. Basically if you purchased the watch knowing it's condition, your concern is highly reduced.

If you knew about the marks or made them yourself, personally, I wouldn't be concerned. They're annoying yes, but at service you can have those polished out no problem.
