I never thought of 2,000 square feet as a little house, Greg! We had two little kids and Dave and myself in 1200 square feet during his residency. That was a little cramped.

Our house in Tempe was about 2700
then we moved to a retirement home that was large for retirement (2060sq ft)
then this Texas house is 1985 sq ft.
Each move gets a little smaller.
We have lots of junk, I never throw anything away...1985 sq ft gets used up
real fast.
Lucky was have small shed 12 x10 in the back yard and it filled to the top.

I don't have a pic of my house right now but here is a pic from my porch after a fresh snow in Colorado a couple weeks ago.

Our beloved 1939 clinker brick tudor revival. We had just moved in when I took the picture last winter. We'll get some landscaping done this spring, I hope!

Our house is 1650 sq feet plus 500 sq feet for the two car garage. We could have got a much bigger house but it is just the two of us so we did not need a McMansion. We thought about it the other night and realized that we live in the living room where the TV is. I hardly go in to our den which is set up for reading. The other bedroom is a guest bedroom. Our biggest passion is our gardening. Here is our Summer photos of our garden. We have a 3,000 gallon pond with about 20 4 lb. Japanese Koi in it:

My front garden with a Cutleaf Japanese Maple

My address rock which has a metal plate in the front of it with the house address. I put low voltage lighting everywhere in the yard for lighting effect.

There be Koi Among Us

Many trees we planted are over 20 feet tall now.

Little Garden Statuary Everywhere

Elizabeth's Roses

Big Blue Spruce

Astilbe and other Flora and Fauna.

This was when the garden was first put in over 7 years ago.

Elizabeth and I in Front of Our Little Gift Shop

I have put so much money in to our landscaping that we will have to stay until we are old and gray. That should be a couple of months from now.

Isn't that the truth!

Greg, we live in Crown Heights - it was developed in the 1930s by G. A. Nichols, who also developed Nichols Hills, but Crown Heights is a bit more eclectic, closer to downtown, and has many much smaller houses and smaller lots. Seems that most everything in Nichols Hills is huge and hugely expensive. Much too high-falutin' for the likes of us.

OMG I know where that is! We would meet for drinks at a place called VZD's
On Classen Blvd. I think? A Geologist that worked for Kerr-Mcgee lived in that area...beautiful homes.

Yes, I know! I can find new ones at our local brick yards, but I want an old one. Or two. I've put it off due to other expenses, but it may be about time to check out the chimney pot website that sells some of the vintage ones. They just cost soooo much to ship.

Here's the other thing - reckon I could find a mason who doesn't mind working under cover of darkness? The neighborhood association will frown on such exterior modification.

Hey, Dan - I need a watch to go with the house. Seriously, a Tudor vintage with California Dial would be perfect!

Yeah, but you might have to trade the Tudor you live in to pay for it.
