Anyone know more to this F.P.Journe story?

I was watching Theo and Harris and Christian mentioned that something happened last week at a dinner with FP Journe and his brand’s collectors where FP got drunk and said some stuff that made alot of his brand’s collectors get up and walk out and later liquidate their watches

It definitely has happened where FPJ got drunk and said something some stuff that made collectors uncomfortable and some may have left. Not sure if anyone has liquidated their collections due to that incident.

Wonder what he said. Something racist is the only thing that comes to mind where anyone would get up and leave

From a first party source at the party or Nico to make it definite information? Many internet sources have regurgitated Nico’s “information” without source. It will be fair to quote a reliable source.

Disappointed to watch the Theo and Harris video on the same topic which basically recited the same source (Nico) and subreddit discussions. I always thought they were okay guys.

There’s nothing concrete. I am friends with a few FPJ collectors that have attending events with FPJ and nobody has said anything bad about him.

I don’t think it’s fair to accuse someone of being racist as per comments above based on some clickbait YouTuber scumbags….

O no I said ‘racist comments’ would be the only thing I can think of that would make people get up and walk out. I have no idea what was actually said

I am going to go out on a limb and say that if it was truly newsworthy and damning that we would have heard exactly what was said by now. Lets not forget Nico was buddy buddy with the crimepiece gentleman so he will do anything for you to smash that like button.

The owners of dolce gabanna were caught saying pretty messed up stuff, curious if that actually ended up affecting them. I refuse to buy anything from them but I've never bought from them anyways.

Not sure what happened at the dinner but I think it was that plus his comments on the Only Watch controversy coupled together around the same time.

I don’t understand the point of this video. Just seems like a rehash of what Nico said with no new info. I’m also just not a fan of Christian and Michael from Theo & Harris.

I searched around during the original Nico drop and the only thing I found was as a comment that had an explanation. There was no way to verify it and therefore no reason to post about it.

Nico also shouldn’t accuse people without saying what happened according to his source(s).

People will own slave labor items and then sell something after someone says a bad word… hypocrites at their best.

Couple of snowflakes moralizing about something they know nothing about. For 20mins. Sounds like the fine journalism we are accustomed to these days.

Chauvinist comments nothing new from FP. He hasn’t changed. The collectors at the dinners have.

Only Watch foundation has been questioned for their transparency of operations. Many reputed watch brands pulled out their watches from auctions and some like FPJ have shown support.

So there's been two sides amongst watch collectors and brands.

FPJ was rude and condescending to Tim Mosso during their sit down. Quite an arrogant SOB. I have read enough about him to not want to give FP Journe a dime. I’m certainly not a snowflake or victim mentality looking to be offended. I just don’t reward a-holes with my money. Wish more people would do the same.

He has this "image" of being arrogant but in person is quite different. I also chalked it up to French culture too.

Interesting. I had not heard anything about the Mosso interview. Will check it out. Wasn't it his firm that was a huge promotor of the brand on the secondary market?

When he worked for Watchbox and they had vested interest in the brands success. The Govberg family has since offloaded much of their Journe collection.
