PAM 372 vs 183

Hi All,

I'm having a difficult time trying to choose between a PAM 372 and a PAM 183. I am well aware that these are two very different watches and in different price points.

I currently own a Rolex Deep Sea and an IWC Portuguese 7 Day (5001). I used to own a PAM 177 (ti) but sold it to fund the purchase of my IWC. Not soon after, I realized I need a Panerai to complete my humble collection.

I think the 372 is a beautiful piece but not as versatile as the 183 due to it's size and style. I am not so concerned about the technical aspects of the watches but more on the aesthetics. That said, I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on this matter.

As far as aesthetics, it doesn't get much cleaner and balanced than the 372 dial. Add an in-house 3 day manual movement and there's your winner.

Sounds like you've already decided. Personally I'd go 372 over 183 after having owned both. Congrats either way.

Size and fit trumps all. Go with the 183 if that works better for your wrist.

Between those two models, I don't think you can make a bad decision. Personally, I was in the market for a base rad when the 372 caught my eye. Either way, I am sure you'll be happy.

I love both, but I think the 372 wins out when it comes to style...its a head-turner with the right amount of Panerai DNA.

I like the 183 for daily wearability and size. The 47mm 372 is certainly doable, but it's still a big watch.

thanks guys. for those of you who have or had the 372, can you dress up in one? i'm in a suit 5 days out of the week and i'm curious whether or not i can wear it to a business meeting or a formal occassion. i'm thinking this is more of a weekend watch? any and all pics of this watch in a formal attire would be appreciated.

I wear a suit, too. Every day of the week. I do like the 372 on a asso strap, with a 22 buckle ... I think the 26/22 straps make it look better with a suit ... For the weekend i wear it on a 26/26 strap i.e. wotancraft 74 or Mario Paci Olterra ... I even use my 26/22 OEM rubber strap for work ...

I would get both watches ... I have 210 which i love .... But with the heat in Madrid over the last weeks ... I was wearing my GMT Master most of the time ....

Friedl41,

I would love to see some photos of your 372 on some of the straps you mentioned. I'm not very familiar with the straps you're referring too. Thanks in advance.

372 looks good. If you want the dressy look you always have the IWC

Now you are changing the game. 327 over 183 but 232 over 372 ...

So my order:
1) 232
2) 372
3) 183

Friedl41,

may i ask why you prefer the 232 over te 372? is it because this model is discontinued and more rare?

Yes, for this reasons and because it is a Radomir which looks very much like the original ones ... I really like my 210, but the 232 with the golden hands and then2 lines on top i would like better .... The 372 you can get later ...

If money and limited and discontinued would be not the question ... I would choose the 372 ... It is one of the most beautiful watches made.

Pure. Clean. Special. I love mine.

The 232 is a nice clean look. Do you prefer Radiomirs or Luminors?
