Confused PP 5712/1A-001 or 5711/1A-001

I've asked DavidSW for a 5711/1A-001 a couple of weeks ago and as you all , its very hard to come by, especially if you are looking for a bit of a discount. Today on my 3 day layover in London, I passed by Boodles in Knightsbridge and saw/tried this on:

I love having the extra complcation of the 5712 :)

So much more to look at and always fun watching the moon phase change

I must agree with you my friend, the 5712 is my all-time favorite Nautilus, I would definitely choose it over a 5711!

Definitely my all time favorite also, I love my 5726 on strap but the 5712 will always be my favorite of the 2, even if I just got the 5726 2 months ago, it's a great watch, like a 5711 with nice complications, love the moon phase and the PR is always useful if you have more than one watch and don't want to reset the date and moon phase, you just wind it up when it's close to zero, to the max and it's ok, it's not indispensable but very useful and would like to have one on the 5726

Sorry to sound ignorant but is that a sweeping seconds hand in the sub-dial?

The Daytona is still looking good. Thanks. David.
I was eyeing the Patek 5712. Nice looking watch.

There's much to love about the 5712 but I quickly realized a few things that bugged me. I didn't like the asymmetrical dial design. I prefer a date window vs indicator. And a power indicator with less than 72 hrs seemed superfluous. So I much prefer the 5711. Now the 5726 pretty much resolves my gripes and is an exceptional looking piece.

I agree with Mike - I started off looking at the 5712 and then extended my search to the 5726 before finally pitching for the 5980.

Have a look at the full range - to me the best are the 5711 and 5980.

Mike, for the very same reasons, I would also go with the 5711.

But is that not down to our OCD

Tough call.. But I think I would go for the 5711..love that dial color and the simplified look really accentuates that brilliant dial!!

x2! I don't like the layout of the dial on the 5712....5711 is just timeless!

I am not a huge fan of the 5712, as personally I find the dial a bit out of balance.

So I went with your 5711 option :)

I think I kind of agree with Mike, Tony and Oryx. The 5712 dial looks unbalanced and I think this will most probably get me frustrated with the watch somehow.

I will go with the 5711.

No, I don't really like the look of the chrono complication on the nautilus. I think the simple face of the 5711 sings to me the most.

Now, I keep waiting for DavidSW to get back to me.

5711, without question. It's a classic, uncluttered look

The more I look at pics of the 5712, the more I like the 5711. Although I still dream of the 5980.

If you are going t buy a PP, do so but with a complication. This is what made them famous in the first place. If not, wouldn't a 15400 or 15300 be a better choice?

5711... Less is more + easy resale.

Really the only choice.
