Very nice, seems like it might be more rare than your 6542.

I was also wondering if you had any paperwork on the watch. If you have the certification I think it would at least have a country code the watch was shipped to.

If only Rolex would only open an office to offer extracts of the archives like some others do.

Yes, agreed. If this watch ever goes to auction, your buddy just needs to print out a screenshot of this thread where some random guy is saying that it could be real. That should clear any doubts that a potential buyer may have.

Awesome! I've never seen anything like this before.

Regarding the Middle Eastern military Rolex watches, I am guessing that they were given to the officers (and maybe just the high ranking officers?) and not the foot soldiers, but can anybody confirm?

Yes I agree I don't see every soldier receiving one of these.
would be good if someone more educated around these dials popped in and could give us some more detailed info.

A few years ago, I saw the same exact dial (not in the watch). Within the last few years, it must have found its way into the above GMT...

Long story short, I past on it in due to its unsure provenance. King Hussein I' signature and initials do not seem to match. It almost looks Farsi.

Can you take a close up of the dial?

Saw it among other logo dials at a shop in the UK. Your collector friend must have acquired it from there... Cute dial nonetheless.

Because this dial has no provenance whatsoever. It could've been made by anyone. And, like you did say in your very first post, the guy you bought it from said he had it for "many years". So, the watch was cobbled together, and the dial came from a shop that was selling it as is. Were there papers with the dial proving it was a Jordanian-issued military dial? I guess, the crux of all of this is there's nothing proving authenticity of this watch.
But, if you're cool with that...

Justin, does your friend contend that the dial and the rest of the watch were "born" together, as an all original piece? I think I'd have a lot of questions for him.
