I had this beauty from 1914 on, and wondered about the previous owners who looked at it as a new year came...

Didn't occur to me until I read this Post that the watch I was wearing may well have seen the better part of most New Year's Eves since 1960. Wow! Thanks for that thought.

This watch, as I've mentioned here before, dates to perhaps just a few hours before the Ian Fleming Rolex 1016 Explorer (ie, the literary James Bond watch). Not sure where it will be a year from now (eg, may be on display - I'm certainly not giving it up for any reason I can think of).

So I departed from the routine I started in 2006 of wearing my Omega 2907.50.91 "Casino Royale" Limited Edition Seamaster Planet Ocean.

At the stroke of midnight, instead of hugging and kissing my wife who was sitting by my side, i was watching the date change on my 1 day old GMT IIc. It actually happen at 3 mins and 20 seconds past the hour with a nice 'snap'. Then I kissed and hugged my wife!!

I was watching and counting down the seconds on my Sub LV.
I had set it by the GMT website before I went out and then I was counting down the seconds to midnight to let off the fireworks in the village.

This is about 2 hours before midnight. Erin and her newly gifted 36mm DJ and my DSSD were with us the whole evening!

I'm cheesing a bit as I started drinking about an hour ago - this is in the lobby of the Westin hotel we were staying at.
