Most popular rolex
What is the most popular Rolex of all time?
I don't suppose Rolex actually reveal sales numbers per model?...

My guess would be either the Submariner or the Datejust.

I would bet on the Submariner which is known around the world and around since the 50's....as well as the only Rolex I was aware of for many years before I decided to learn more about the brand & buy one!

Submariner hands down. It's iconic for the brand...

As much as I want it to be the sub, the datejust is probably the right answer.

James Dowling of "Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History" says it's the Datejust by a pretty substantial margin.

Rolex sells a ton of datejusts.......& now that there's the datejust 2, it'll go up to a ton & a half!

I believe its the DJ followed by a close-second the Submariner.
Even the poll of their actual owners in our local forum shows the same results: http://www.philippinewatchclub.org/f...=1924&start=60

My bet: Datejust by sales volume and sub by opinion.

Date Just would be my guess. For every Sub I see in the wild, I probably see at least 3 Date Just.

All in all I would guess that the Datejust is also the most sold model for men, and amongst the professional line the Submariner, with the GTM as a good second. I would enjoy to see some sales statistics from Rolex. :-) Best, A |

Datejust by a margin--not my favorite--not in collection! For me Subs and Daytonas but Datejust for the world.

Submariner is the most collected, probably most interesting for most people who love Rolex, it is THE ICON
The datejust sell much more than the sub but the difference is that most datejust are bought by people who know not much (or nothing) about watches but they just want a Rolex I know, I know !!! the datejust is a great watch too but in general I'm sure there are a lot more non WIS wearing a datejust than non WIS wearing a sub |
