Quick shots of Omega Aqua Terra 2502.50

New acquisition. Saw it while shopping at Costco, spouse said for me to try it on (also tried a Breitling GMT on a brown leather strap), and said if I like it I could have it.

After a day, it appears to be a half second fast. Love the dial, no cyclops, and the display back is a first for me. Its a good size too, looks huge even though its just a mm larger than the GMT Master II.

Some quick pics with my old 3.2mp Canon Elph:

While your pics aren't exactly doing that beautiful watch any justice , I used to own that baby a few years ago when it was first introduced by OMEGA.

That BLACK dial just has to be one of the most stunning BLACK dials I've ever seen.

And that would have to be one of the finest dress-cum-sporty watches floating around. It also has a screw-down crown with a 150 m waterproof rating.

The transparent caseback is an added bonus with a very accurate 27-jewel co-axial movement.

Thanks everyone! I really like the clean lines, and the lume is subtle, I'll try to snap some shots tonight.

JJ, I admit it; I'm not even one of Jocke's socks when it comes to photography. Equipment probably wouldn't help either.

Congrats, Paulie. I was in Costco last night and they had the Seamaster Chronograph 2225.80 for only $2239.00. My wife almost had to wipe the drool off my lower lip.

The wife and I are going on vacation to Las Vegas this weekend for a week. If I can't make a deal out there I may just have to delay my quest for a 2254.50 and pick this watch up

If I remember, at my Costco in OakBrook, they have a Speedy chrono on the shelf, along with a almost 6k Cartier, the Breiting Colt GMT on a brown strap, and a couple Tag's in the same range.

----
Side question:

Actually, I'm having a bit of trouble with this new piece. Didn't notice it until wearing it for a couple days; The bracelet is digging into my wrist, as the links have sharp edges. It would fit better with a link removed, but would this fix the problem?

I have an authorized Omega repair place in the next village I can visit to have a link removed, but if it won't resolve the problem, it may be going back. It's that annoying. Anyone have experience with this?

It's one of the things I love about the Oyster bracelet, the rounded edges.

I could swap it for the Breitling... though I love the stunning clean look on the AT, or just get a full refund and maybe wait for a version on a strap (like a Railmaster). I'd just have to check weekly or so and see what comes in.

Paulie,

With Costco, you get all the trimmings for the watch ie. manuals, card certificates (all 3) and s/n intact? Always hearing a lot of various info about watches bought from Costco.

Does costco stamp the warranty card?

No stamps, they are not an AD, but it does come with everything. Inner/Outer box, 3 cards, two hang tags. The cards, white tag and watch case have the same serial.

Better pics:

Those second round of pics are more like it.
Very nice. Simple, understated class.
Enjoy,

Well, it's been 5 days. I'm really really starting to like it. I will find a watchmaker this weekend to remove a link, I think it will be just perfect then. We're at +4.5 seconds over the 5 days too.

Paulie,

It was $1,995.95 at my Costco in Southern California. Same in the Windy City?

I paid $1899+tax(~8-9%). Mine is a 804xxxxx serial, probably close to couple years old? Not sure if that would make a difference.

The Breitling GMT on brown leather strap was $1849.

Not sure what the serials were but probably new, old stock, like yours. Still an eye catching watch for sure. I was checking out the huge 41mm face of the Omega and wondering what the new Milgauss would look like at 40mm.

I'm thinking about picking up the white AquaTerra with blued hands on strap myself.

It's a great watch and tough as nails!

Read this Great Review Here. Those guys took one in the desert and abused the hell out of it!

Have you seen the White with Rose markers? That's also a beauty!

Oh hell no! As a true WIS I find it difficult to criticize anyone for buying new watches. Your SAR will find a nice home and all will be happy.

Great looking watch!! Congrads. You can never go wrong with an Omega!! AR coated crystal, great movement, finished and rounded off case.

I am starting to think myself that an Omega AT may be the way to go as well. Love the way it has a sporty, yet vintage look at the same time.

SLRdude, thank for the link to a great review!! That is the type of review I like to read!!

C-rad, can't go wrong with either one. Nice thing, is you could get both for the price of one Rolex.

Both have a 3 year Omega warranty and also with the new co-axial movement, require service only once every 7-10 years!

The Railmaster has a unique history as well! Both the AT and RM are real classic!!

I like them better than the Explorer I or Datejust due to larger size options, AR coated (on the inside only) crystals, co-axial movement and better water resistance.
