Wife suggests...

So looking at something to go with my Panerai 000 for my birthday.

Thought I had it fairly well sorted thinking DSSD, Polar Explorer or GMT2c.

Wife throws me a curveball by suggesting the Platty YM. Ugh!

I'm a bigger guy at 6'3" 220 with flat 7.25" wrists. I have always adored the Platty, but wonder if its too small? Or has my Zero brainwashed me?

Go with the DSSD. Will look best with your size. I'm 6'0" and 195 lbs with 7.75" wrists and I like wearing my DSSD the most. Fits perfect.

YM will look small on initial wear but will wear big as you get comfortable. Don't know why, just does.

Personally, I think there's a lot more to a watch than millimeters. Get what you like. That'll look the best on you.

Given that you have no doubt got used to the PAM size, I'd go for the DSSD but in any other situation (large wrist size or not) I would go for the GMT2C from that selection.

7.25 is not a huge wrist, and the DSSD would possibly be too big. The YM would be perfect and you could ven get away with Datejust.

YM a great call and as said above 7.25 not a huge wrist--same as mine and I wear 36mm-42mm watches - All look just fine so get one you like the most as size won't be an issue!

Unless you plan to wear the Pam at the same time as your other watch...no need to worry about what will go with it ;-)

I think the YM is a silly watch. The DSSD looms great. Did you try on the GMTIIC? That's a pretty substantial watch as well. Very functional as well.
