Icon13 Bad News - '14 44mm is NOT coming out

Well I'm REALLY disappointed.

Confirmed from AP NYC the SIHH 44mm Ceramic with anthracite is NOT coming out in 2014--it will be a 2015 watch

I'm just SO pissed...another year wait.

really?!?

I was holding out for the new ceramic but maybe a new 42mm will have to be the next purchase. Really liked the gray dial after seeing it in person.

This is direct from AP a few hours ago:

I have very very bad news, actually.
We were informed yesterday, by the Switzerland factory, that this reference will not be delivered until 2015.
=(
We are all really disappointed by the news.

Um, maybe last years all black model--2014 SIHH model is NOT being built.

Believe me I was #1 on their list months ago, and just got word today.

This...the blacked out 44s are all very cool and I would love to have the all-ceramic as a more casual piece...but there lies the issue...I'm not sure if ADs will have it or not, but if they sell for full pop, $41K is a heck of a price tag for a watch to beat around in.

Thank you for the update Paul, I find it strange that AP would show this watch at SIHH 2014 and then tell customers it won't come out before next year. I wonder what happened to make them take that decision...

Completely unbelievable that AP pulled this stuff...VERY bad marketing move IMHO. Show it at SIHH, then a few months later, pull it from your website and then let boutiques know. Bad news and shame on AP

I'm sure the reason they pulled was not enough demand for it. What other reason could there be?

Um, no demand--don't think so. I heard it was a ceramic manufacturing issue. Also, they probably needed to unload the rest of the all black ceramics. The 44mm AP's will sell just fine

Not to mention showing it at the trunk show the day before the announcement.

AP behave very well on these matters compared to Richard Mille. I am still awaiting the Silicon Nitride RM011 which was shown 3 years ago, the NTPT RM011 which was shown over a year ago, and the RM039 which was shown 2 years ago. No sign of any of them in dealer windows. Even having them ordered and deposits paid doesn't help.

A delay by AP of a few months for one or two models is entirely acceptable in my book.
