Batman vs Green Lantern (review 116710)

Much success in your effort. Green Lantern?
I've seen mods like this one but don't know what a Green Lantern is...

...
Batman and Green Lantern are both superheroes from comic books...

116710 with green gmt hand > green lantern
116710 with blue gmt hand (and blue/black bezel) > batman

Thanks - knew 3/4 of that but had not heard people trying to tie the regular GMT to another name than what it goes by.

Hello all Roloboys and girls,

So here’s the review I made promise about, with comparison between Rolex 116710 LN and Rolex 116710 BLNR, a.k.a. Green Lantern VS Batman !

Few words about both Watches :

Rolex GMT-Master II 116710 LN V-serial from 2009

Link to Rolex website

The new GMT-Master II with cerachom bezel was unveiled at the 2005 Baselworld fair, first with the all gold model, and then en 2007 for the all stainless steel model.
It was the first cerachrom, i.e. ceramic, bezel ever created by Rolex.

Present retail price in France is EUR 6800. So it is cheaper than the latest ceramic Submariner 116610 !

Rolex GMT-Master II 116710 BLNR "Random" serial from 2014 (with new Warranty card)

Link to Rolex website

This specific model was long awaited for its two-colored bezel, which seems almost impossible to manufacture for many watch enthusiasts.
Anyway, this blue and black bezel GMT-Master II was unveiled at the 2013 Baseworld fair.
Its present retail price is EUR 7250 in France.
Which is quite a lot more bonus compared to the 116710 LN, just for the two-colored bezel !
LOL

Here’s a quick list of all differences I spotted between both watches :

- Blue and black bezel opposed to black only.
- Writing of GMT-Master II on dial is white opposed to green.
- GMT hand is blue opposed to green.
- Night lume is blue (chroma light) on index and hands, opposed to green (superluminova). Please note that late random-serial or G-serial 116710LN also have blue night lime.

What I feel :

These are two absolute beauties, to me, and quality of manufacturing is really of high level.
Watches can be worn all day, with sporty clothes as well as more formal.
The touches of color are quite discrete, even for the BLNR.
Both watches run perfectly with less than 2 sec of difference in timing.

Yes, this is actually my 2nd BLNR... Traded the first one with a Deepsea sea-dweller, as I wanted my BLNR to come from same Rolex AD than the older on, the LN.
;-)

About discount, overlimit, usually no discount on steel pro range Rolex in France. If you're really a very good customer, you can get up to max 10%...
Whereas, in Italy or Spain, for instance, you can get 15 to 20% discount if you know the AD a bit....

Beautiful presentation, gorgeous watches, especially the black one.
I thought I wanted the new SDC4000 but now I'm not sure again...
