x3. Whether it annoys you or not the name seems to have stuck. There is no going back now!

Late in the game. The Hulk is quick, easy, and describes the watch to a T. I do have to say, however, that this suggestion is better than "polyphemus" for the new SeaDweller

Same here, but I'll use Hulk every once in a while, esp if a new OP refers to it that way so no confusion.

Hulk, Batman, and Smurf annoy me when I hear them. I love Coke and Pepsi though. Neutral on Kermit.

Green Lantern is no better than Hulk.

What's this got to do with the thread? .....Anyone?

BTW The sooner people stop giving children's cartoon character nicknames to Rolex watches the better. It's so dumb, I wonder it it's part of the infantilisation of our culture which has been going on for some time?

I think basis of the nickname is it's birth process. It is not a controlled process. Suggesting a new nickname is not a nickname, it's a name, like a product name. Nicknames just come out and they click or they don't and the one(s) which click stay alive. It is very natural and cultural process i would say.

Nicknames should be determined by an organic process over time, not by a poll on a forum.

There's never a consensus anyway, e.g., Batman, BLNR, Bruiser, etc.

The thing is, if you like Green Lantern, then by all means call it that, though you might have to explain yourself each time you use it.

The Hulk nickname is too well established at this point.

If I was twelve years old I would play the nickname game. Alas I am too old.

Forget that its little late in the game but why would you go from a very popular super hero in HULK to not very well known superhero Green Lantern!
