Looks nice, a shame it's limited edition only.

Wasn't it Esquire that had the info and pics of the Nautilus 40th before anybody else?

I think it was GQ - probably due to Nick Foulkes writing for them.

I think you're right. Not very exciting in my opinion.

I started getting excited but then I remembered I'd rather get the new 1815 Chrono.

Nice. I wonder how many they'll make, and no doubt it will be quite difficult to get.

Was this in the US version of Esquire? I am surprised Patek is OK with letting this out before the Exhibition starts.

This article is indeed in the US version of Esquire. Idris Elba is on the cover.

No box, no buy. Just kidding, it looks like a really nicely executed pilots watch.

A very interesting release by Patek! A time only 3-hand watch, without the travel time and no date, in SS - this will be a popular watch for sure!

Anyone care to guess the price and how many of these they will produce? How about a price between $30K-$35K USD and quantity of 1000? Just a wild guess, but plausible numbers I would say.

Will this watch release affect the secondary market price of the existing 5524G?

35K was my guess. 500-1000 sounds right. London Exhibition had 3 choices for customers:
1) MR Retro PC
2) Retro PC
3) Time Only piece with Breguet Numerals
If the pics that our departed member Brian posted were accurate there were 3 men's options as well
1) MR with Enamel Dial
2) WT
3) Time Only (Which we are now officially seeing as the 5522A)

In the most precious of PP metals it's going to be a hit. As a LE doubt it will affect the 5524 as an alerbatuce to these not able to get one but compliments it. I think it's a good release! As a side the 5167 doesn't compete or affect sales prices of 5164

Largest product numbers for London was 80 and U.K. Market roughly the size if USA so would guess 100 but hey....this isn't a charity and they going to fly off the shelves so why not 1300???

It is difficult to compare the UK and US market for Patek watches.

US has 99 Patek ADs and the UK has Patek 41 ADs. In NYC, there are only 3 Patek ADs. In London, there are 11 Patek ADs.

For the London special pieces, they came out with variants of existing 5159 and 5153 watches. For the NYC Exhibit, they are coming out with a completely new reference - 5522A.

We will soon find out how many 5522A they will release for the NYC Exhibit. It will be interesting to see if they produce numbers like 1300 as they did with the 40th Anniversary Nautilus Chrono.

Sub seconds at 6 would have balanced it nicely.

Agree. Big empty void. Even a date like 5524

the combination of the "patek phillippe - geneve" text at the top combined with the heaviness of the 10, 11, 12 make it imbalanced imho

perhaps a tiffany stamp might help in this case?

That would do the trick...wonder how many of these they will allow to be stamped...
