Agree with an upcoming release of the coke but not as soon as 2019. Maybe down the road and may discontinue another model to produce it too much variety.

Someone ask a question about 2 weeks ago related to any anniversaries this year Basel 2018, he had no replies so I replied and told him No.

I was immediately contradicted by people thinking that any year is an anniversary year, so the question is.....is there a real anniversary in 2019....not an answer like, hey its the 67th anniversary of the so and so. Thats your answer.

2018 was the 65th anniversary of the Submariner and the Explorer. Obviously both anniversaries went by unobserved. In fact, I'm not aware of any anniversary model that wasn't a 50th-year tribute - although I'll happily be corrected if someone knows of any. I'm not aware of any significant anniversaries next year. The Explorer II turns 50 in 2021, so it might make sense for Rolex to hold off on any changes in that model until then.

I think the Sub will get some attention in 2019. It was surprising enough that Rolex brought out the SS Pepsi GMT this year while still offering the WG Pepsi GMT. I think that the Sub's current 3135 movement will get replaced with the new 3285 movement that was placed in the new Pepsi. The other not new in 2018 but current GMTs still have the 3186 movement.

basel 2019? 2018 models are not in stores, 2017 models still have huge waitlists, and 2016 Daytonas, don't even thing about getting one of those.

But yes, by all means lets speculate on what watch we won't see next year either

I fully agree! In many AD's they don't even have open waitlists for smth like a hulk or a batman... or you need to get in a waitlist for smith like a submariner, which I find crazy.

Daytona has always been a hard to get peice

Subs and gmts might be getting new movements/ and new case same as pepsi gmt? Maybe thats why theres none in stores

I remember 2016 my AD had a batch of all gmts and subs multiples of each everytime i went in

Now theres 30+ on each list - plausible - time will tell

Certainly not for the standard SS LN subs but perhaps for a PM version.

I would think the black SS GMT would be released next year and maybe white gold Sub

By the way, just to play: Prediction: in 2019 the Submariner will be updated to the 126610 with updated movement with 70 hr power reserve and a slightly more tapered lug transition to bracelet.

*who knows, who cares, enjoy what you’ve got
This is what I've been wanting since 2015. I would be a happy camper if this actually happens. Was actually hoping for a slight 1mm increase as well, but with a new GMT model remaining the same size, I'm 99% sure the Sub will too.

It seems completely reasonable for this upgrade to happen too, would have given the SD43 2 years with its new movement/time to accumulate some sales.

I would agree with you......before this year's release. Rolex introduced the new movement onto a new SS BLRO and LEFT the old movement in the new WG BLRO. They're not abiding by that 'upgrade the PM models first' logic anymore!

100% agree that 2021 will be the year for the EXP2. 50 years practically always have significance. Paired with this, I HIGHLY doubt they would let a revamped Sub share the spotlight with this occasion, so I think it's likely the Sub is getting its upgraded movement no later than Basel 2020.
