Don’t shoot me, I just bought a Breitling

My Hulk has been at RSC Toronto for the past month and I have been watchless

I decided it was time to get a second watch for these instances

Given the current AD inventory situation I decided to look outside of the box.

To be honest, I couldn’t be happier!

I wanted something sporty, something that I wouldn’t have to worry about! I stumbled across this bad boy while scowering the forums and scooped it up for a cool $1550 CAD, a little above the service cost for a sub!

The quality and finish is amazing and the concentric circle pattern on the dial is stunning! Frankly I can’t believe how much value there is here for so little $.

What do you guys think?

Nice watch. I’ve had the same one for 12 years but black dial on a bracelet. It’s my go to watch I actually scuba dive with. I’ve dove with my hulk but the SOC is a great alternative

Very nice, nothing wrong with Breitling, I wear this one when I’m not wearing one of my Rolex models....

I really like it! I bought my dad a Superocean II for Fathers Day last year, and he loves it.

Congrats!

I think Breitling designed were much better during this time period than current ones.

Well done

Many brands can be appreciated and have much to show

Many brands out there if Rolex ADs prefer selling to Grey dealers

Nice watch. Congratulations. There's always at least one Breitling on my want list. Right now, I have a Sky Sweller on order. I'm going to exercise some restraint for a change!

Probably.

Looks great and love the dial color! A Breitling colt auto was my second mechanical time piece and it’s every bit on par with my Rolex pieces.

Good for you. More people should check out other watches. There are a lot of nice ones... that you can actually buy.

Exactly. Breitling makes a nice watch, but they don't hold their value worth spit. Get one used, as the OP did, and you can wear it for a few years and sell it (if you want) for what you paid for it.

I've had a Colt, SuperOcean, Steelfish and a couple of others that I can't remember the name of. They do tend to run big though...

Their new 806 reedition will be worth paying msrp for, however.
Half of collecting is discipline.

Breitlings are very nice watches, too bad they are suffering through these times.

I actually made £200 on my SF after three years of ownership. Only cost me £1.2K, wish now it was a ten grand watch for the return.

Nothing other than Rolex, PP and some AP's hold their value well. IWC, JLC, Panerai, Zenith, VC, etc. all take a beating in the secondary market.

I commend you for getting a Breitling. I just picked up my first Breitling last week, which was a Superocean Heritage II and am already contemplating another one - the Premier Day Date.

I'm looking at getting the panda B01 Chronograph 44mm. How do you like how it wears...is yours a 42mm/44mm/46mm?

The watch OP just got and mine above, are 42mm. It is a thick watch, and there is no way around that. It sits tall on the wrist and is top heavy. I used to wear it daily, but now I'm glad I have other options. The 44 B01 will be a big watch. It will feel huge compared to your BLNR. I would say to go to an AD and try it on. Great durable watches, and mine has never let me down.

Th 44mm B01 Chronomat is a hefty watch. It's night and day different than wearing my Sub. It is thick and I wear mine only on the pilot bracelet. Timekeepign has been spot one and I've had one issue with the stem that was taken care of under warranty.
