A few of my vintage Rolex watches

I rarely post, but I was surprised to discover recently how much these pieces have appreciated in value over the past 10-15 years. I have quite a few in my collection, some with boxes/papers. None are for sale; just finally contributing a show/tell post. Here are six from my collection — two 6542s with original Bakelite bezels, a 1680 red, a late 50s 5508, a 1675 (not a showstopper but I love the faded bezel), and a 1655 Mark 1 (whose look really never appealed to me, but I acquired it years ago because it was the first of that series and was the full papered kit — I just could never quite make myself wear it, lol).

Wonderful collection! I would be happy to relieve you of that wonderful 1655 that you never wear.

Holy Crap Batman! Wow, Impressive.

Are those dials on the 6542s different?

That Pepsi is sweet.

Awesome collection.

Thanks for sharing.

If you're referencing the color, the dial on the left has faded considerably into what some term "tropical." If you're talking about font weight, I've noticed a few variations in 6542s through the years, although I've never seen anybody attempt a "Mark" style catalog ― if I've just missed that during my long hiatuses here, I'd appreciate a link!

Really amazing collection. Thanks for sharing. The guide to dials and the various marks is here, look under "MATTE" and "GILT" menu items. https://gmtmaster1675.com/gmthistory/

Great link, bookmarked regarding "mark" versions for reference 1675. Has anyone seen a similar summary for "mark" versions of the 6542? Much appreciated btw.

what an amazing collection. The 6542s are great. Definitely appear to be many dials in that period!

Tomas, many thanks — now I don't think I'll ever look at that watch the same way again. :)
