AD screwed me

Was waiting 6 months for a Daytona Panda. Watch came in. AD decided to keep it for himself. Needless to say I'm super pissed. Writing to Rolex. Not sure it will do any good, but I am very frustrated

Thanks for listening

That sucks!

How do you know it arrived and AD decided to keep for himself?

I bet the SA called prematurely, and the watch was promised/sold to a different customer. In any case, sorry to hear your situation.

That's what crossed my mind.

Sorry to hear about your experience, OP. I agree with the suggestion that you should voice your concern politely to a manager.

If he wanted a Daytona for himself (?)...He would have gotten one long time ago

ADs are in the black market business now - probably he got $7,000 above retail
...or more....So ...it became his ...

How much time elapsed between the first call and the second call? I would have literally dropped everything and drove to the AD.

I'm trying to evaluate how hard you actually tried to get it. Give us a time line of your effort to get the hottest watch on the planet that is worth $12k over retail. I hope you didn't do something stupid like schedule a pickup date....when they call that is the time and date to come in.

If you made a list and got a call (and apparently the worst case of watch blue balls ever)...don't worry you will get another call soon. Just be cool about it and have an in person conversation with them.

What I am reading here is that you have been waiting for a Daytona for at least 6 months.

This is why we have forum trusted sellers. You can always make more money but you can’t buy your waiting time back.

Ya but what if you have to work extra time to make that money back. Pretty much offsets the wait time you’re saying is a waste as you’ll just waste your time making the money to pay grey difference

Of course there are some that grow money on trees, but for the rest of us lol

Sorry to hear that ... But that is becoming the norm it is a crazy world with Rolex watches now. Personally I would go with a "Trusted Seller" and forget the AD's. I have had great experiences with DavidSW to each his own just saying

I would walk away and find a different AD or gray. Good luck on your hunt!

I would go into the store and talk directly to the store owner with your SA present. Be complimentary of the SA and civil and professional with the owner. Perhaps you can use this opportunity to build rapport and assure you get the next Daytona or maybe he will even honor his SA call and offer you the one in the safe.

This is a sensible suggestion.

I seriously doubt 2k would have sealed the deal, they would not give it
to an unknown buyer above retail...they know what to do.

This is true. To make this observation you must either be a high-roller or an AD :)

The owner had another buyer lined up. It's fair game. His shop, his rules.

You writing to Rolex? Cry me a river please. I'll put on some Justin Timberlake for you. Almost think this is a borderline troll post.
