DJ on a jubilee or oyster?

Hi

I am looking to get a DJ 36 in Blue and deciding between oyster and jubilee bracelet, i definitely want a smooth bezel

I dont work in an office much so would wear it casually or at events and prefer the sportier look. The jubilee i always thought looked “old man” and i am 33 yrs old, but having seen the smooth bezel jubilee combo it looks ok? And iv heard its more comfortable and no PCL so less scratches

What would people choose if they were my age and for my use?

Thanks

Ive got both bracelets. Some people prefer smooth bezel with oyster, fluted bezel with jubilee. Its all a matter of personal taste.

I bought 2 dj both 41 smooth bezel on jubilee, I am a few years older than you, but your watch does not make you an old man, its what's in your heart. sometime, in your wallet too. haha good luck!

Oyster.

I'm only a few years older than you and have a blue smooth/oyster DJ41:

If it were to have the fluted bezel then I would've said go jubilee.

This combination looks great on a jubilee, but I prefer it on an oyster. I have both bracelets and swap them out occasionally. Definitely prefer the oyster bracelet, more sporty and less blingy than the jubilee, though the jubilee is more comfortable, IMHO.

See knew it would happen!!!
I would get the mans size DJ41 first of all. And either bracelet is great, you will be happy with both. Don't stress over it.

If only i could predict the date for rolex price rises!!!

For me, DJ = Jubilee.

However, as proven by the photos in the above posts, you can’t go wrong with any bezel/bracelet combo on the DJ. It’s such a gorgeous watch, especially with the blue dial.

100% oyster if you are going for a 36mm DJ.

The jubilee makes the watch wear smaller and the DJ36 is already small to begin with. I've tried on the smooth bezel / jubilee blue 36 and it was just too small. Wound up going with a 41mm on jubilee and that one is perfect.

I'll be getting one soon enough and that looks really sharp.

In theory and forever in my mind, it simply must be fluted and jubilee..

It's "wrong" the way you have it LOL

and I like it..

I own one so I can say this...whenever I see a DJ41 without WG fluted bezel I assume the buyer didn't have enough money to buy the good one.

LOL

Haha, I jokingly say that too but my blue smooth/oyster was a gift from my GF.
The price was not a factor at all for her, she liked the fact that it didn't have the "traditional" DJ bezel and bracelet.
She thought the fluted/jubilee was too dressy, we live at the beach and have a more laid-back lifestyle.

Nice.

If I were to get another DJ41 I'd go for that exact version!

Sounds weird but when all I am wearing is shorts and lying in the sun on a boat or in the water I don't want a big clunky Submariner on my wrist. I don't wear Doc Martins either with swim trunks.

This thing is like butter....

It looks good on both bracelets. Oyster is sportier and jubilee classier. Jubilee is more comfortable for sure and will fit better the wrist. Depends as well if you have other Rolex on oyster then might be good to add a jubilee!

I like the oyster bracelet the best of any made by Rolex; it doesn't matter which watch. The Presidednt would be the next best. I do like the Oyster Flex and on the watches it's available on I'd be happy to own one with it. For me the Jubilee is the bottom of the barrel. It's too busy looking and doesn't last as long before needing repair and the other metal bracelets.
