Info about PP Ellipse, Reference 3545

All,

I am trying to find out information and details about the watch pictured.

Here is the information I have about it:

"It's an Ellipse. Reference 3545 I believe with a champagne sunburt dial and roman numerals painted on. The bracelet is not original, but high quality custom gold that was made by a jeweler craftsman in Pasadena, California."

The dial with the sideways design and Roman Numerals seem unusual. It is also missing the "Swiss" or "Swiss Made" notation printed on it.

Please share and thoughts or suggestions you might have about this vintage piece and please point me in the direction where I can learn more about this watch and it's configuration.

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise with an interested PP noob.

So here is what John had to say about the PP pictured:

Thank you for reaching out. You have a 3545 as you know, production of this 'horizontal Ellipse" was from 1967-1977. Based on the dial, I think you have a version from the late 1960s. Later bracelet as you pointed out. Beautiful watch!

I asked about the lack of "Swiss" or "Swiss Made" on the dial and he answered:

No significance - could have been cleaned off during an old service

Your welcome. Glad I could help. John Reardon is definitely one of the authorities on all things Patek.
