(Incoming) Platinum Cartier Tank Asymétrique

This was a super impromptu purchase but I’m very pleased to be able to acquire a Platinum Tank Asymétrique! To me, the Asymétrique is one of the more desired and distinct shaped watch in Cartier’s catalogue, and it has been chosen as the featured model for this year’s Cartier Privé collection. It references the original Asymétrique that was launched in 1936, especially with its Arabic numerals.

I think that it is about high time that the Asymétrique is launched again, as its previous release in 2006 only featured 150 pieces under the CPCP collection. The “surrealist” style of the Asymétrique, like the Crash, is not to everybody’s tastes but it nevertheless reflects what Cartier does best - designs that are whimsical and eccentric but yet intelligent, evocative and super stylish!
