I have another tin-top race car to trade paint. This money sucking project was to take my old daily driver, a numbers matching e28m5, and build a modern euro RestoMod track car, in the spirit of Group A from the 1980s. Basically, I’m building the TT/ST2 specification lightweight e28 m5 that BMW///Motorsport never built.
1988 e28 m5 3.8L STROKER on a 300lb diet
Custom Carillo 94mm pistons and connecting rods
Nuke Performance fuel rail and pressure regulator,
997 Turbo fuel pump
AAF chassis mounted shifter
Increased volume carbon fiber CSL air intake;
Euro Equal length race headers, custom exhaust, and race cats
Moderna Engineering LSD 4.10 gears, custom ramps, 6 clutches, w/polished ring and pinion
Upgraded Group A suspension: reinforced Spec Fab fully adjustable F/R subframes
Fully adjustable MCS 2way motorsport coil over; enlarged f/r swaybars, corner balanced
partial interior, rear seat, a/c, heater delete
Safety:
Half cage, welded into rear shock towers and differential mount
Lifeline Zero 360 FIA 3.0kg Novec fire suppression;
Cool Shirt Pro Air/Water system;
6 point Schroth FIA harness,
FIA Sparco Ergo & Sabelt GT-160 seats...

Wow! You should start a thread on what you’ve done and keep us all updated with pics.
I’ve got a dream of putting a twin turbo m70 motor in a e46 330ci. Have the motor and the car just have to find the time to do it.
