Damaged jubilee hollow end links

Today I noticed that one of my end links is damaged and missing one of the tubes. While I am sorting this out with the shop I bought it from (as this should be covered under warranty), I wonder whether a piece like this is usable or not. I noticed the end link being slightly loose in the first place so I assume the tubes are there for a reason. Hopefully the seller will offer to source new part but thought it may be interesting to post here.

Is the other link fine? I am preparing myself to have to buy new ones for 200$ in case my warranty plan fails I plan to send the bracelet to Michael Young anyways in the next few months - is this something he could/would be willing to fix as well?
