Is AD dial swap on new Rolex DJ36 a ok procedure

Hello!

This is my first post on this fantastic forum.
I have read a lot of post and got lots of valuable information already.

Now, I have a question about a new Rolex DJ36 that I am planning to buy.
I was at my local AD yesterday and looked at a steel DJ36 with a black dial. This was exactly the model I wanted, except that I wanted to have a silver dial.

They then told me that they could replace the dial to a silver dial and also showed me this dial protected in a plastic casing, this would take one or two days and I can then get the watch.

First I thought this was a great gesture, but later I started thinking if this is a ok and approved procedure with a brand new Rolex watch?
Is this something that is done often at AD?

Regards
Stephan
