Trading up AP RO chrono for platinum Rolex Day Date
I asked the same thing in the Rolex forum, but wanted to get a rounded view from you guys too.
I own an AP Royal Oak 38mm SS chrono 26315. I do like it, but don’t love it as much as my 15500. I have been dreaming about the ice blue platinum day date 40. Now that the SS AP secondary prices have gone through the roof, I’m thinking about trading up. I have an offer for a little over $50k for my AP. I know they are very different watches, but wanted to get some thoughts from you veterans out there! My wife, who isn’t a watch person, thinks it’s a bad idea, comparing this to trading a regular Hermes Birkin for an alligator Kwanpen. Do you think it’s a good idea? Any thoughts on long term value of the two? Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
