Purists Look Away
I picked my 1978 5513 up from my AD yesterday. It had been off to RSC Bexley for an overhaul since 14th February. It has had: Dial & hands changed, new crystal, new rotor and re-bush of lug holes as well as a service for the cost of £641.
I know the mantra "you should have kept the dial and hands original" but, quite frankly I wanted a watch I could see in the dark. After hawking around a few dealers in January I wasn't offered much at all for it so I decided to bring it up to a fully usable condition.
