Case refinish
Hi all
I don’t post a lot here, enjoy reading the posts though. Just wanted to pass along a great experience I had recently from a nice friend, Michael Young(yes the bracelet magician in HK). This is not meant as a debate about the pros or cons of case refinishing….it’s done son just wanted to share an experience. I have had a 16234 DJ for almost 25 years and it’s been thru just about everything I can throw at it. It’s been polished(both good and bad) and it kept on ticking. Lugs we’re getting thin and it was time…. I decided to take the plunge and have MY service and refinish the case and bring it back as close as possible to original. It’s mine and I’m not selling it, sentimental, so I’m free to do what I want with it. I know many are opposed to polishing, refinishing etc. I agree I can alter the original shape, but this is not a collectors piece. I’m very happy with the results and wanted to post some before and after pix. You wear watches to enjoy them…..at least I do. So I can be done properly by the right person ![]() |
