1999/2002 Rolex prices and supplier question
Hi all,
I've got my dads watch, he left it for me in his will when he passed away, I cherish the watch so much that it only really gets worn for special events and around the house. its a 1999 16203 (in my profile picture). I had it valued by a UK Rolex AD the other day and was shocked at the valuation (more than I was expecting) while we were there we noticed that rather than the watch being supplied/sold by an AD, this watch was sold by Rolex UK themselves, now I know the watch was originally owned by the owner of another local AD, it was the owners personal watch. He had it 1999-2002 then my mum bought it and gave it to my dad in 2003 for his 40th. Has anybody seen watches not sold via AD but directly before? It was the owner of the AD that did the valuation and he said his personal watches are purchased through his own company so show as being supplied by his AD hes never seen one supplied by Rolex UK before. I'll dig out the certificate in a minute to post a pic. Also can anybody tell me what the RRP would of been back in 1999 for the watch in GBP? and approx value in 2002? my mum thinks she paid about £2000 for it.
