One more old gun
This is a Smith & Wesson .45 Hand Ejector, U.S. Service Model 1917. It is designed to use .45 ACP cartridges in half or full moon clips (the early speed-loaders!). S&W made hundreds of thousands of model 1917's for the U.S and various other military's during and after WWI - this particular one is unusual in that only a handful were made for commercial sale after the war. Well used, this is another hand-me-down from my father - this is the handgun he first taught me to shoot with some 35 or so years ago.
