Long time reader, first time poster...Incoming!!!
Well, like many of you, after literally several dozen hours of nearly non stop reading bordering on the obsessive compulsive, my chase has ended. I've purchased my first Rolex. A 16610 Sub Date that is "approximately nine or ten years old" according to the seller. I'll know the serial and post pics once I have it in hand. I've taken the opportunity to combine to the good old intro thread with the classic incoming thread :-)
My first "nice watch" was a Movado Portico. I know, what was I thinking? Hey, I was 19. It looked cool. My first quality timepiece was an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2504.50. Man, I loved that watch. Beat it up a bit too much as a daily driver and ended up trading it in on a nice AT 8500 midsize teak grey which is on my wrist as I type this. I love the 8500 even more. I also had a Breitling Chrono Cockpit. Watch size fit my wrist very well, but the dial size of my AT ended up making my Breitling look funny. There just isn't enough dial real estate on the Chrono Cockpit, as much as I loved the look overall. The dial to case ratio just bothered me. Anyway, I ended up flipping the Breitling to put towards my first Sub. It should arrive Saturday...I can't wait. Well, thanks for those of you who've made it through my rambling. And now what you came for: |
