Should one keep their watch collection running at all times?

I am about to purchase a Yacht Master TT but I have another automatic (Seiko Kinetic) that I usually wear most of the time so that I don't have to reset it. (I also have two Citizen Eco drive watches that never stop.) This got me wondering... what are the pros and cons of letting a watch run down verses making sure that it never does?

I'm new to the forum but I did read where someone suggested that a member wear his watch for several weeks to see if just wearing it would make it keep better time. Do they just get gummed up through non use?
