Help! Can't change time, only date and watch keeps steaming up :-(

Hi,

I'm away at the moment and after swimming in a pool, noticed my oyster perpetual date just had gone misty. This has happened before ,so I put the watch In a jar of rice for 2 days and it cleared up. I don't think I am strong enough to do it up properly because it steams up each time I take it out the rice. I have gone from dubai to Malaysia and have kept it in a safe ( so its airtight) until I get to Australia where I'm hoping it can be fixed.

I have tried to change the time to Australian hours and it will only alter the date. This was a gift from my partner and I am worried about telling him. Should I take it to any decent jeweller in Brisbane, where I am heading for a while and pray they can fix it?

Any ideas what the cause may be?

Ps. I know I should have left it in the uk as I am travelling for a year. Lesson learned already.

I appreciate your advice.
