Hello, just introducing myself I have been reading this forum for several years on and off finally decided to join. Been an avid Rolex guy since I was 20 years old. I'll turn 50 next year. My first Rolex was a Pepsi GMT paid $1800 for it. I have owned other nice watches; Omega's and an Oris and Tags but I've sold them all.
While in the US Army, I was stationed overseas in South America several different posts and while I was in Panama in 1993 I went to the local authorized dealer in Panama City and traded in my GMT for my first Sea Dweller 16600. It was $2900 new. LOVE that watch. I have to say in my opinion it is the greatest watch produced by Rolex - the 3135 movement in those watches are spectacular. I have never had a single issue with that Sea Dweller. It keeps great time and I wore it for four years straight during training, shooting, diving, playing golf, working out, shower with it, you name it. It is the most reliable and durable watch like no other. Eventually I come back to United States and I subsequently by another Rolex. They are addictive. This time I buy a two-tone Submariner, then a few years later a Date Just. Of course every time I go to the A.D. my wife needs a watch as well so she gets a Rolex too. So this year 2016 we go on vacation and I go to a AD and fall in love with a watch they have there. what is it? ... ceramic ....what else ... SD4Kc If you haven't guessed already ...I love the Sea Dweller! |
