I have not yet taken any action, will likely attempt to contact the former owner because, as we have discussed, there really isn't anything to lose. I didn't post photos because it is NOT Rolex, but will do so once I have resolved this to my satisfaction. At the time I bought it, a simple, time-only GP was not a super-desirable watch, it's entirely possible that it was donated to a rummage sale, the cash value was probably a whopping $35 US, if running (this one was NOT). They've gone up a bit since then, but on a really, really good day, I don't think it could possibly be worth more than $800. I put it in the vintage forum because the value of the watch has, IMHO, little bearing on the admittedly-minor moral issue. I don't have a receipt, I think I paid $20 US for it. I don't mind giving it to the man, if he asks. I will attempt contact. Then, I'll tell all.
