Patek 5170P long term collectability ?

These two watches couldn't be more different when you have them side-by-side. 5170P is the perfect dress watch, 5172G is something more at home with jeans and a t-shirt. I think both make sense in a collection, particularly if you like chronos. The only thing I'm not sure about is the stepped lugs. I love it on the 5320, but it seems to conflict with the more causal nature of the 5172. I need to see it in person.
