Asked my AD about the one he was wearing under sleeve one day. It was actually a Tudor Ranger. Ended up purchasing the AK. I like the 05 addition and the pops of color.

Had both. Preferred the AK by far.

For me the AK as it’s a sportier quirky watch, whereas the Explorer is a bit more of a formal piece.

Wow - I expected a bigger win for the Explorer. There’s more love out there than I thought for the air king.

But what do I know - I love the Explorer II.

Air-King for me. Different dial type, great daily beater and the most recognizable green and yellow Rolex colour combo on top

What you going to do with the results? Buy a watch based on an internet poll?

Wanna see other member opinions about these 2. As they both has the same aesthetic (movement Cal 3230, same diameter at 40, and same black dial color, smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet). The price range almost similar as well.

AK. The Explorer is, and always has been to me, just boring. The AK is a bit much, but that is what I love about it. The colors, the numbers, the 05 simply put it over the top.

Love mine.

Easy — Air King.

Explorer is super boring (much like OPs).

Exp II is awesome though

ETA — see you went with AK, congrats!!

One of my consideration why finally I pull the trigger on AK is it has crown guard on the case, while the explorer 40 does not .

It is fairly boring. That’s what i love about it, i throw it on and nobody notices and i go about my day. The AK is pretty cool, a little too much going on but i like seeing them out and about. They look great.

I like the AK a lot!

I am a die hard explorer fan but at the 36 size. Therefore I’d choose the Air King in this scenario, although I like the last AK better without the crown guards…
