Show off your dresswatch

I think if we go to the absolute definition of a classic dress then this forum would be sh1t. We'd only see 32 mm time only tired watches instead of the collection of stunners we are currently enjoying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just purchased this JLC MUT Moon a few days ago. It's on a grey alligator strap for now, but I also have the black strap to dress it up.

Exactly, but Chesse has a very narrow definition of dress watch, oh my God how this thread would be boring if the guys posting would follow his definition of a dress watch, but he seems to think a dress watch is a 2 hander, small and made to be worn only with a tux or minimum a 3 piece suit... BORING |

A true dress watch really should be as he has described. Plenty of threads to show off these other fantastic watches, but some of the watches posted, nice as they are, aren't what most would categorize as dress watches. If we were looking at dress shoes rather than dress watches would this be viewed any differently? Some would still choose sneakers and rubber soles with their tux and Armani suits, and who are we to judge if that's your thing? Preferences and individual styles aside, I think a classic dress watch in its truest sense however is as Hollister has described. |

Maybe it would be better to simple ask to see 2-hand time only watches?
That preserves all definitions of dress watches, while allowing a dedicated thread to these more traditionally, and perhaps narrowly, defined dress watches. Could do "strap only" for the purists. My comments are only my opinion, so please nobody take offense. To be clear, I continue to enjoy seeing all of your beautiful timepieces, regardless of how you choose to categorize them. |

Well dress watches can have a third hand in a small seconds format a la 5196 or the VC Traditionelle. But again, I think that if you can describe the watch as being 'dressy' then it should qualify here. I just want to see 'formal-centric' time pieces. Elegant and beautiful mechanical master pieces. Not 32mm time only 1920's watches from Downton Abbey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I had unlimited funds, I would buy this tomorrow. Discreet, er no. But just look at it!

This is the closest I have got so far... I will acquire (what I consider) a true dress watch down the road but I feel this is appropriate for my style right now.
Looking good everybody! IMG_GO_small.jpg |

My personal definition of a "dress watch" would be any elegant and thin watch that fits nicely under the cuff. But these two adhere to what most people seem to define as a dress watch. They are Zenith Port Royals w/the in-house cal. 2562, and are very comfortable wear.
