What's The Most You'd Spend On a Pen?
Some of the collections here are simply beautiful, and I might add, way out of my league. I saw my 2 MBs Meisterstuck pens as indulgences and don't think I'd be inclined to exceed what I paid for those on any writing instrument. Please take a moment to indicate on the poll how much you would realistically spend on a coveted writing instrument. Feel free to maintain your anonymity if you like.

I'd spend $250-350. Sorry, not being a pain but it wasn't on the list.

I gave between $1000-$3000 but that is a long way off!
There are a few specific pens that I like a lot that are in the mid $1000's that I would like to own one day. Real world here and now would be anything up to $800! |

I chose the first category although this would be "£" for me.
I'd spend up to £100. I just feel a pen is so easy to loose (or have stolen) to go spending much more on. Don't get me wrong, I love pens - always have done but I just feel you can get something nice for not too much money. I've got a few pens, all ranging from from £5 to £50 ish and I'm quite happy with them. I think Parker and Sheaffer make great everyday instruments so I don't feel the need to go spending silly money. I'd rather have 5 x £100 pens than 1 x £500 pen. |

I would spend up to $3000.00 on a Hemingway FP and perhaps a few others, but that is in the future.
I enjoy the hunt as much as the acquisition.

I'd say my limit would be 10k. It depends. It'd have to be super nice and special.
I've seen some pens in Tokyo for $60,000 and thought THAT was outlandish! |

I spent a little over $350 for my Montblanc starwalker cool blue. I love the shade of blue on it and the platinum goes with my platinum YM.
So $500 is my limit since I don't use pens much. |

The most I've ever spent on a pen is $100 for the Cross ballpoint that I currently use. I like pens but would rather spend my money on Rolexes!!!!

JJ really needs to go beyond his comfort level. I am sure there was a time when he would rather have had a Timex than a Rolex.

Let's take up an offering! If we each donate $1 we should be able to get JJ a pen that won't embarrass his watches. Or us. Or the herd, for that matter.

Spent a bit over $200 each on our MB Bordeaux pens and pencils. That seemed enough.

I checked the $500.00 - $1,000.00 option because that's where the MB Writers' Series ballpoints fall (thankfully, they are at the low end of that range!). I have the entire series and can't imagine not continuing on with it, so next September...

I enjoy fine writing instruments and have four MontBlanc pens. Right now my everyday pen is a MB Starwalker RB. But I also like the Pilot G-2 gel writer with an extra fine tip(0.38) and carry and use it. If someone needs a pen this is the one I loan out(cheap)!!!
