Submariner 14060 two liner with engraving??

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a preowned submariner and just wanted to confirm the production year as the seller isn’t completely sure. The seller states it is a 14060 model two liner with the engraved rehaut and serial starts with G.

Just from doing my own research, would this watch actually be a 14060m considering the rehaut? Which year was it produced with a G serial? I also don’t see any two liners out there with the engraved rehaut. Does this raise any red flags? I’m looking to purchase from one of the most reputable online grey market dealers.

Thanks all

There was never a 2 liner G series 14060. All were 4 liners, buyer beware or seller is misinformed. The engraved Rehaut RRR was introduced on Z models and later such as the G you are looking at.

G serial would be around 2010 so not a 2 liner.

Seems like contradicting statements there. IMO if they were truly reputable they'd be able to answer just about any reasonable question you had, especially one that straightforward.

I have a T serial 14060, no engravings.

This might help:

FYI I think a lot of sellers copy and paste from their old ads. I saw a 14060 ad on C24 where the copy referred to a 4 liner but the pictures showed a 2 liner.

So basically no two liners exist with the engraved rehaut?

Would this be a fake sub?

Likely a swapped dial if it's truly a Gxxxxxx serial and not a random that happens to start with G. If random it would have eight total characters.

The only other engraved two-liner I've seen had a random serial due to RSC service replacement.

When the 14060M went to rehaut, it also became COSC and this 4 lines of text. Looks like a dial replacement has taken place.

Thanks All. This is somewhat troubling considering the asking price from the dealer for either a fake or modified preowned watch.

It’s great that this community exists to provide such information to you to prevent poor purchases in what can be a tricky market to buy in.

Since you sound like a newbie, you should just be buying from a long time reputable brick and mortar local watch shop, or maybe Crown & Caliber or Watchbox.

You might pay a little more, but you will get a genuine piece.

I agree with this. Use here for knowledge and to educate yourself, but, as a newbie use a reputable dealer. Buy the dealer, not the watch is a phrase which appears often which is quite good advice.

Something is off and the seller knows it if you ask me. If it's a recase you should be informed of that.

I can second HQ Milton as a reliable seller. I've bought several watches from them.

Best advice is not to buy that watch, whatever the case may be.

There are too many out there from reputable dealers to take a chance on getting hornswoggled.

I would think yes because I think the no-date subs had drilled lugs until the introduction of the ceramic 114060 around 2012 (the sub dates switched to no-holes way back around 2001). Since the engraved rehaut was introduced around 2007, I'd think there would have to be some subs with lug holes in combination with the engraved rehaut
