Hello RF,

First post! Long time lurker and reader. My wife just gave me the go ahead to search for a 5711R and I'm seeking RF'ers advice to perhaps point me in the right direction of finding one. This would be a gift for me. I'm based in the states but will be going to London/Paris in February.

I'm based in the midwest (USA). I've tried my local AD as well as neighboring states with some stand offish vibes and some interest. We all know the importance of developing relationships/purchasing hx with an AD. My wife is interested in the 7118R and I'm considering it purchasing it for her but would prefer to buy with some sort of commitment of a 5711/1R allocation.

Any tips appreciated.

The 7118r is also very hard to get

I would find an AD that’s willing to take a down payment on the 7118 and once you receive it ask to be waitlisted for the 5711r, it’s a long shot but it’s worth a try if you have no better options

In London and Paris for a tourist will be impossible unless you are ready to bundle to within an inch of your mortgage.

My local AD gets one 5711R a year and last I knew there were 6 people on their waiting list.
