Watch delivered in a carton?

Hello:

I’m shopping for a Patek and one advertisement said the watch comes with its carton. When I view the picture, there is, indeed, a proper Patek carton, but no watch box that appears to slip into the carton.

Are some watches delivered just in this carton/box (wrapped in plastic, perhaps), and not with a proper watch box (small or large)?

All paperwork, etc. appear to be a part of the package, but I fine the lack of even a small box odd.

Thank you for your thoughts/feedback.

LS

Thanks. It seems odd that some watches would be sold brand new in a simple little box, while others are sold with presentation cases—especially when all the watches are expensive.

They all come with presentation case. If it doesn’t it means seller keeps it to sell separate and make more profit.

Or they didn’t take the box with them when they illegally imported it after buying it in a foreign country...

Pateks are shipped to ADs sealed in the simple small carton - analogous to the plastic coffin that Rolex watches are shipped in. The nice presentation box is then given to the customer along w the watch- same as Rolex.
