Datejust smooth/Fluted bezel

I bought a plain/smooth bezel 2019 datejust 126200, is it possible to have the fluted white gold bezel fitted as an extra from the Rolex dealer ?

You can send it to Rolex and they will sell you one and install it. You are looking at lot of cash... I would just buy the watch you want and sell this one.

I asked an AD that same question and said they would not do it or advise it. I’ve heard or read of people getting dials or bezels switched out at Ad’s on here before.

I prefer the smooth bezel. I think you are better off selling it or trading it for a fluted been version.

No I like the smooth bezel, just wondered if it was an option to change the look of the watch if I fancied doing it

It’s not an option that can be done (at least not officially- it can physically be done).

Changing smooth to fluted would “change the reference” of the watch which is why Rolex won’t allow it.

I also believe RSC will not make that switch. I always liked the smooth better for me.

Any number of jewelers will do it for you with either Rolex or aftermarket parts.

Perhaps this is good excuse to add another datejust with a fluted bezel, instead of tinkering with the existing? :)

Thank you for posting Scott

I tried this with my DJ2 when I had it, and this is precisely what I was told at that time.

I had the same thing happen to me so I wound up trading my smooth bezel DJII for a fluted DJII and have never regretted it. Just talk to a trusted seller. It's the better way to go and quicker and easier. I wound up paying like $2K to flip and the watch I received was in far better condition than the one I traded.

I looked into this before and AD's would not do it and the RSC told me they would not do it either.
Also consider how much you would loose ($) if you were to now sell yours to trade up ($$) in this current market for a fluted bezel.
Keep that DJ in good condition just in case you decide to go through with it.

Make sure you only use OEM parts, don't franken your watch.
