I saw that yesterday as well. While I can only suspect the reasons for the bias, the fact is that it was clear against her from the outset.

I wish them luck with the realization that, no matter how drastic their entitlements get whacked, they will still live better than 99.99% of us commoners.

Harry then turned into a bit of a lad, did stuff that royals aren’t supposed to do, and was a bit of a ladies man.

Harry then did military service and saw action, firmly establishing himself as favourite royal. To add to that he did a bunch of stuff like the Invictus games. His stock could not have been higher.

Then he met Meghan. And that was good. We liked Suits. Meghan was nice and attractive. So we liked Meghan.

But...the British Press are a nasty bunch, and they love to tell a story. Harry hates the press following the blame apportioned to them for Diana’s death. And whilst the bloodline to King will largely be left alone, the brother of the the to-be king is fair game.

The press then tore into Meghan about her treatment of her father. And every headline had a negative bias. Unfortunately, over here, that sells papers.

Harry and Meghan have had a Royal strop and want to go from being major royals to minor royals (fewer duties. Fewer constraints, less cash). Something like that anyway.

There are now two sides to the British public on this, it seems to be the way we operate now over here, nobody can be in the middle, must be extreme.
Great post and fun read thx for sharing. As a German living on the west coast I’m a it detached from good ol Europe

Side one. British press are a disgrace and racist, and the royal family don’t like Meghan because they too are racist.

Side two. Harry and Meghan want their cake and eat it. They want to be partially funded by the tax payer whilst selling themselves for commercial gain.

So...take your pick.

Personally, I can see both sides. I would however say that I don’t like the way people are using the race card. This exact same things happened to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Hard to believe now, but Prince Andrew was once the one everyone liked. Good looking man when younger, ladies man (known as randy Andy), served in the military (falklands I think).

All a bit rushed and on my phone, sorry. But hopefully you get the gist.

Some days i'm the dog, yet most days feel like the fire hydrant. Spoke to more UK friends and think they finally set me straight <face palm>. Wow, now i feel like a total arse, my bad everyone :(

Basically, it's a UK thing for sure (like USA with the Kardashians, yet with far more upper class). Kinda get it now, yet still seems sooo weird to me. Hope everything works out well for all involved.

The fear I and many have is that Meghan's idol is not like Harry's, ie the Queen but the SM queen Kardashian, and there would be nothing worse than the Sussex Royal title being monetised, so that has to be monitored very closely and their titles stripped away if that commercialisation starts to happen.

Looks like recent polls show Canada do not want to foot the cost of them living there when they are there, which will probably be most of the time now. I think the reaction to them leaving and disrespecting the Queen by not informing her first has blown up and most want them gone now and they know it, the question is how much money do they get - if they want true independence then the £30m they already have should cover all their costs, including protection, plus they can easily make many millions on the speech circuit etc, so should now be no cash from the Queen or from Charles, both come from taxpayers anyway, and they should pay rent on their Cottage which will hardly be in use now, they should really repay the 2.4m spent on now pointlessly renovating that cottage for them as well.

They move to North America. She gets a reality show. Boom, another hit like the Kardashian’s. Harry can go back on the loaf like most of the Royals. LOL!!!

We will gladly take them off your hands ... as long as they pay for their own security rumoured to be $100,000 per day.

If this really is the gameplan, and many think this was all along as she had no real interest in the monarchy or its traditions, then she might as well dump Harry soon and marry a billionaire now she is a "princess" and not a soap actor, like Jackie O.

Whatever is happening with the royal family, I have come to the firm conclusion that it is none of my business.

Me too.

But I will add that I like this couple. And I respect them greatly for this move. Personally, I find it ballsy and impressive.

It's not like Harry had any real prospects to become King anyway, and Meghan looks like she is a go getter. Wish them all the best but I don't want to see Canada pay a single dime for their security, housing or whatever special privilege a Royal would be entitled to receive.

I have no dog in this fight, but I agree with Piers Morgan.

I would be pissed too if my tax money had to support a couple uppidy brats. The Queen has quite a spine, I respect her for that.

She just wants to build a pop culture empire and staying a Royal would cost her alotta money.

Look forward to a reality show, a fragrance, a makeup line and lots of social media coverage.

She couldn't stand not being able to take pictures of herself and being able to monetize that. Now she can.

Good luck Harry. Maybe she will keep him along for the ride...time will tell.

WhatsApp says she kissed a Prince and turned him into a frog. Their kid's gonna grow to realize what his parents did - took away his HRH titles.

Still say the French got it right in circa 1790.

They made royalty a bit shorter. And definitely better.

Alas not taken away, they just can't use them, they still have HRH on their website and still have the Sussex Royal brand which should also be withdrawn as they are not working royals any more. Lots of people in Sussex are angry that they have kept the Duchy as they will never set foot in the place again, and Meghan might never have even once. If they go too far with commercialising themselves and devaluing the Royal family then hopefully the Dukedoms will be revoked along with HRH for good.

If I am honest, I think that the HRH title has not been removed in anticipation of restoring it fully after the divorce, whenever that is.

Yes, officially it is there as a fall back if they both decide they want back in but realistically if being a semi-Royal is still too constraining for Meghan's ambitions then yes it is a way back into the Firm for Harry.

I’m picturing the white, British version of the Whitney Houston-Bobby Brown show from the early 2000’s, “Being Bobby Brown.” Could be fun.

Me thinks it all comes down to this:

https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/s...friends-and-b/

She absolutely could not stand not being able to have a social media account to barrage us with selfies. Not only to stroke her ego, but also to monetize for a shocking amount of money..
