Shaving head...

I couldn’t find a thread in the search about shaving heads. (Insert sex joke here).

What do people around here use?

I started using a Braun after wet shaving for years. I once used the head blade and it’s great, then the Mach 3 from Gillette as well.

I recently bought an andis tin foil shaver and am amazed at the closeness of the shave. I do get major razor burn from this device, but that’s the trade off of a close shave.

What does everyone use around here? Why can’t Nair make a product that isn’t basically like dioxin?

Thank you.

Some of us are hair challenged. But we make up for it with other, remarkable physical attributes.

You guys should check out the andis tin foil razor. It’s a closer shave than the Braun.

Gillette 5 blade razor if I go too long between electric shaving.

For the electric, I use a Panasonic Arc5 electric wet/dry razor.

Mach 3, been using it for years. I keep the blade in a cup of alcohol in between shaves so that it stays sharp longer.

HeadBlade ATX. I tried the Headblade Moto. That was a huge mistake. Sticking with the ATX

I recommend the following product over the andis tin foil shaver. I tried the andis and it gave me irritation as well. The wahl superclose does not give me irritation.

I also got laser hair removal on my head, front of my neck and side burns. Before laser hair removal I would get ingrown hairs on my neck and it would constantly be irritated. After laser hair removal no more irritation. No more ingrown hairs. And very smooth.

Did you get the ultra close version or the regular version. One version has “extra close foil..”

Hell yes! It was a total of 9 sessions spread 6 weeks apart. It hurts bad with each zap of the laser. No lasting pain. My head is irritated for a couple of days. But looking at old pictures of my head and neck before laser hair removal. And pics after laser hair removal. Its night and day. Old pics a lot of irritation. New pics smooth as a baby’s bottom.

I use a barbershop set of clippers and buzz my head to stubble. I don't do the razor (yet). I use a 000 clipper head, basically an outliner.

Losing my hair was traumatic for about 6 months. i recall the day i came home from the beach, hopped into the shower to get ready for dinner out, and felt the water stinging the top of my head. Sunburn! Not enough hair on top to protect me from the sun's rays. Wake up call! I always wore my hair short. High and tight for a large part of my life. When I really let it go it got to be about one inch long. Maybe.

I always promised myself no drugs, no rugs, no plugs. I began having the barber go shorter and shorter, and finally realized "I am what I am" (to quote that seafaring old tar Popeye), and just shaved it all down to stubble. And it was LIBERATING! I'm very comfortable with who I am. Wouldn't go back to having a full head of hair now if it was offered.

This. During the summer, my wife uses her horse clippers with a surgical blade. I just sit on the patio without a shirt and when she's finished, take a shower. It's been mostly dry this winter but very cold, so I've been going to the barber lately.

This for me as well.

Started going bald around age 17, been shaving my head with a Gillette razor for about 6 years now.
