I had this watch, one of the first luxury brand ones I ever had, dial was lovely in the sun and the bracelet was very nice and comfy, excellent watch for the price.

Indeed it is. It's my all-time favorite diver watch along with 16610.

The Superocean Steelfish is fantastic. It was my second Breitling and second real luxury watch. This was maybe ten years ago, when I knew a lot less than I do now. That watch was fantastic, and surprisingly, probably one of the most accurate watches I have ever owned, a solid +/- 2 s/day. Aesthetically, Breitling hit it out of the park, an excellent dive watch with a unique functional design, and nearly completely devoid of any Sub design queues. Just a fantastic watch.
Still, occasionally regret trading mine. |

That new one (replacement of this model) never quite grabbed me for whatever reason. Cheers.

I've had my eye on this watch for a while because of that blue dial. I also like Breitlings for the most part.

Well written. Thanks for sharing. Its a great watch indeed. I loved to old ones in Yellow and Orange for 1500 Meters depth. If I remember correctly they were called steelfish.

Thanks. This watch would probably survive a nuclear bomb.

First watch I ever bought, was actually when they discontinued the older one and the X-Plus name was no longer used
It’s a tank and to this day, having never been serviced, keeps fantastic time |

Always had a soft spot for Breitling - tough watches that wear so comfortably. I recently enjoyed watching a couple being rescued from years of neglect by this guy...

The new version is ok but it never captured the essence and feeling of this old model. The dial in the new version is a bit bland and mundane.

Sold originally for $2025 in the Caribbean in July 2005.
Don’t think it was ever worn more than a handful of times. Very impressed with this against the PO Oreo, Pam 1314 or Blancpain Bathyscape SS I currently own. Last edited by Apollo1218; 13 February 2022 at 11:58 PM.. Reason: Add text |
