What?!?! If they get the 18 I'm going to test their limit. I got two bottles of the 12 last wek and it's fantastic stuff.

Tons of butterscotch on the nose.

Then after a 2nd sip it's no longer sweet and very earthy.

Found it extremely complex.

I snagged the 14 and 15 year for great prices. Looking forward to trying them side-by-side in about 6 months

Im thinking when the 18 drops it won't be on shelves for long. I dont think they're treating booze like toilet paper, its buy as much as you want. Haven't had the 12 or 18, so Im hoping its worth the hype! But, then again it Japanese so buy all you can before its gonzo!

They limited a friend to 2 bottles of the 12. I got the last two at my local store so wasn't really an issue. I wonder what this is going to be priced at? $400-500?

Im curious as well, the two I posted yesterday are pretty much half of what the rest of the 'net is charging, heck it benefits us!

So, they limit us to two, Im just coming back a few hours later or when Im leaving, Im asking them what other stores have it.

Picked another Hakushu, as they're only limiting 1 per and a Meiyo 17! Both of the 12s won't make it to the weekend, the Poway store is sold to of both and one Hakushu left at Mission Valley.

I've been discovering bourbon these last few weeks. I tried a bourbon today called "Eagle Rare" which is delicious. I think it's my new favourite.

Very good bourbon to start with! Now try and get your hands on a single barre pick!

Recovered now from a boozy Friday hosting a client friend for what was to be a social distancing sushi lunch. Multiple bottles of sake and champagne morphed into happy hour, then homemade dumplings for dinner, then post dinner. Dipped into the dusty side of the bunker, as my friend had never experienced the joys of any bourbon from the Glut Era. Suffice to say it was an eye opening and enjoyable experience for him.

Love the Vieux Carre served at the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone in NOLA. It's a must stop every time I'm there.

I’m usual an “on the rocks” guy but this lockdown has me experimenting and I have to admit I kind of like the whiskey cocktails
