New Datejust 36mm Silver vs Blue
Hello Everyone,
I would appreciate your advice and thoughts as I'm heading tomorrow morning to the AD to get my first Datejust. I do like the new model (126234) with the new lugs and the classic look. This is going to be my daily watch to add to my small collection that includes a Submariner 16610, and a Speedy professional, I need something small, and more dressy for office work and to stay on wrist the rest of the day in comfort. Im heading for fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet, and in between the 2 dials, blue and silver. I tried and liked both, the silver is more classic and dressy, the blue is just perfect. Please share your thoughts and experience... Sent from my YAL-L21 using Tapatalk

I would go with the silver dial. Like you mentioned, it’s a classic. Blue is nice, however, I personally would get tired of it. Also, you have two dark dial pieces already.
My 36mm white dial DateJust, I love. It gets more wrist time than my SS Sub/Date. |

I would be wary of any blue dial. Yes, they are the flavor of the month, but I fear 20 years from now, folks will laugh at them and say, “That is so 2020.l

Silver goes with everything and the shiny dial gets lots more attention from others:

Blue is cool until it isn't, Silver and black are classics that will endure.

Blue is the way to go. That sunburst in the light is killer.

Silver gets my vote. Blue is cool but silver has the classic DJ look.

Hi Rami, nice collection. If it was mine I would add that mesmerizing touch of blue to the collection as it's already monochromatic.

The blue dial is great looking but I would go with silver or white for a dial selection. They are neutral colors that match with most others and outfits.

Sorry, but a blue dial would irk me every time I wear black clothes which is most of the time.

I say silver too. It has a classy appeal that is hard to match with any other color.

Both classic! I think the blue adds a sporty touch while the silver is dressier. Can't go wrong!

Personally I would go silver, the most versatile and classy, although both dials are great. Look forward to your pics.

I would opt for the silver dial over the blue. True timeless classic that goes anywhere with anything.

My vote goes to silver
Based on what is in your collection already. Very versatile, can be dressy and informal. The blue, while beautiful (I have considered it myself) is limiting for formal and some business occasions. Either way you are a winner - with the classic size and the classic Rolex.

The black (sunburst) dial is beautiful on this piece- definitely try one on if at all possible. Excluding that, I will vote for silver over blue. I’ve had all three on wrist.
Fantastic decision- this is one of the best pieces in the current lineup. You’ll be shocked at how comfortable this watch is on the jubilee. |
