I need some help with this old guy
Hello fellow enthusiasts, I have a weird one for you. I’m in the process of getting this Rolex restored and I’m curious if anyone has any insight into the year this was made or any history of it. It has a Handley case so I believe it’s Australian but I could be wrong.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

It's possible your watch was made by Rolex in the 1930's in their Victory (value) line. If this is the case then the dial would have been refinished at a later time with "Rolex" replacing Victory on the dial. The Victory watches utilized Rolex movements and cases were sourced elsewhere, such as Handley.

Thank you
Thanks for the information, I greatly appreciate it. I think the dial might be refinished as well, it’s too bad they didn’t leave it as it is because it would retain some value with the old dial, I have to assume this watch isn’t worth much.
Thanks again! |
