Definitive guide to accessories etc....1980's

Hi guys,

Been a while....

I've recently purchased a 16660 matte dial, complete with correct box/papers.

Question is; has anyone got any idea of exactly what should have been included at point of sale for this watch in 1983 or is there a link to this subject?

It has been supplied with the following; tool kit and wallet, buehlmann table, anchor, translation booklet, tags with matching serial number, chronometre cert, rolex 'submariner' booklet, extension link.

So anything else? Should there be a second wallet and calendar card or any further booklets?

Check this one, as it claims to be a complete set (The second photos shows everything)

Interesting....calender card and plastic wallet maybe missing then; if these were definitely given out at point of sale? Suppose never know.

To be fair the watch is 1983 and the Mark 2 matte dial so earlier than this one.

and the Rolex Osyter booklet. These items should all come with the watch t sale. Maybe they were misplaced. I have seen some for sale, but just watch out for authenticity FWIW.

Post a photo of your new (old) beauty with its accessories so that we can all enjoy it!

I imagine ADs 30 years ago weren't as consistent as they are today in what they provided with the watch. They'd probably throw in whatever they had and leave out what they didn't have, so the definition of a "full set" is rather fuzzy.

Not sure when this was introduced but were not used in the 1980s to the best of my knowledge.
